The advantages of Zipwake are many, but they can sometimes be a bit tricky to explain clearly. Below, we’ve summarized the key points in a simple overview. We’ve also created a video together with our distributor in Australia, AMI, where we think it’s explained quite clearly – check it out!

Zipwake Interceptors vs Trim Tabs
Both systems control the boat’s pitch and roll by redirecting water flow. However, the way they achieve this differs:

Less Drag
Zipwake’s interceptor blade extends vertically into the water by only 30–60 mm, whereas trim tabs typically project 150 mm, creating significantly more drag.

More Efficient Lift
Near full-beam interceptor setups are far more efficient at generating lift compared to the narrower design of trim tabs.

Less Wake
Interceptors provide better trim control, resulting in less wake, which directly improves fuel efficiency.

5 Times Faster Actuation
Zipwake’s blade stroke takes just 1.5 seconds, outperforming conventional trim tabs by at least a factor of five.

Oh, and one more thing: Zipwake is fully automatic, so you can just sit back and enjoy the ride!
