Zipwake’s Dynamic Trim Control System recently gave new life to a Brandskär 28, owned by Eva and her son Anders . The boat has been in their family since 1995 and is used frequently every summer on the west coast of Sweden. When it was time to replace the old trim tabs last spring, they received a recommendation from their boatyard, Kullaviks Båtvarv, to switch to interceptors instead of replacing the traditional trim tabs.

With extensive experience at sea and as both a World champion, European champion, and Olympic medalist in sailing, Anders knows what he’s talking about when it comes to boats. But, initially, and without prior experience of Zipwake’s systems, he was somewhat hesitant about the boatyard’s proposal. However, his skepticism turned into belief after their first trip with the new system. The boat felt like it had undergone a beauty treatment and now felt 10-20 years younger. The upgrade made the boat easier to handle, more stable laterally, and it reaches planing speed more quickly and at lower speeds. Extending the operational range dramatically.
